
Our second piece of art for this term was based on illusion and called 'Optical Art'. Whaea Jeanette demonstrated the process using a circle drawn on a piece of paper, an A3 piece of paper and sketching pencil. She started off by drawing curved horizontal and vertical lines on the circle. The she filled it in with black and white squares like a checker board.
The next part of the process involved drawing up horizontal and vertical lines on the A3 page and colouring this in also like a checker board. The last stage of the process involved strategically placing the circle onto the A3 paper and then sketching around the outside of the circle to create a shadow. Here are a few of our finished examples:
